Why Learn Japanese???

Having your child learn a foreign language is a sizeable investment in time and money. In a world where both are in short supply for many parents, it's important to know why such a program for your child makes the most sense at this time in their lives.

Here at Himawari Preschool, we have thought long and hard about these questions. If there was an easy answer, we wouldn't be the only Japanese-language preschool in Michigan! Therefore, we'd like to share with you our thoughts on the following questions that every parent needs to ask for their child:

1. Why should my young child (ages 3-6) learn a foreign language, rather than put the time and effort into something else (math, reading, other academics, music, art, gymnastics, etc)
2. Why should my children learn Japanese, rather than Spanish, French, Chinese, or other foreign languages?
